Douglas Wignall qualified as a solicitor in April 1974 and, after a short spell in private practice, worked as an in house lawyer in industry for the next nine years, the last three of which were spent as General Counsel for ITT Sheraton, EAMEI (Europe, Africa and Middle East and India) division. He established Douglas Wignall + Co in February 1984 and joined Cubism Law in October 2015.

 

Douglas has many links in the hospitality industry and is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) which is considered by many to be the greatest source of hospitality expertise and counsel represented by some of the industry's respected professionals from across six continents. Douglas is also an associate of the Hotel Solutions Partnership, a firm comprising some 40 hospitality consultants and hands on professionals from around the world, each of whom is a specialist in his/her respective field. Douglas has also been a long-standing member of the London-based Hotel Property Network.

 

Douglas has written several articles on hotel management agreements for hospitality magazines and currently participates bi-annually in a seminar on contract law for event organisers and event venue owners.

 

Douglas holds a current Solicitor's practising certificate and is a member of the Law Society.
